Centre Reconstitutes Central Advisory Board Under Code on Wages, 2019

The Ministry of Labour and Employment has issued a notification dated 21 July 2026 reconstituting the Central Advisory Board under sub-section (1) of Section 42 of the Code on Wages, 2019. This notification supersedes the previous notification dated 29 January 2019. The reconstituted Board comprises independent members including the Minister of Labour and Employment as Chairperson, the Secretary of Labour and Employment, the Secretary of the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, and the Joint Secretary (Wage Division) as Member Secretary. The Board also includes five representatives from State Governments (Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, and Assam), four representatives each from employers' organizations and employees' organizations. The employers' representatives are drawn from Laghu Udyog Bharti, Confederation of Indian Industry, Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India, and Council of Indian Employers. The employees' representatives include members from Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh, Hind Mazdoor Sabha, Self-Employed Women's Association, and United Trade Union Congress. This Board serves as the principal advisory mechanism on wage-related policy matters under the Code on Wages.
