FSSAI Bans Use of Metallic Pins and Wires in Food Products and Packaging

FSSAI has issued an advisory directing all Food Business Operators to immediately discontinue the use of metallic pins, staple pins, and wires in food products and packaging materials. The directive follows reports of such pins being found embedded in cakes and food packages, creating serious food safety hazards. Non-compliance will attract penal action under the FSS Act, 2006.
