2026-08-12 · Labour Department, Government of Rajasthan
The Government of Rajasthan has notified the Rajasthan Industrial Relations Rules, 2026, exercising powers under Section 99 of the Industrial Relations Code, 2020 (Central Act No. 35 of 2020). These rules apply to industrial establishments and matters where the State Government is the appropriate government across Rajasthan. The rules came into force on August 12, 2026, the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. They provide detailed procedures for settlement of disputes, formation and registration of trade unions, recognition of negotiating unions, constitution of works committees and grievance redressal committees, standing orders, strikes and lock-outs, lay-off, retrenchment, closure, worker re-skilling fund, and compounding of offences. The rules repeal the Rajasthan Industrial Disputes Rules, 1958, the Rajasthan Industrial Employment (Standing Orders) Rules, 1963, and the Rajasthan Trade Union Regulation Rules, 1959. The notification includes 64 rules and 20 prescribed forms covering all procedural aspects of industrial relations in the state. All records, registers, forms, notices, and display boards required under the Code and these rules may be maintained electronically.
