Rajasthan Orders Strict Enforcement of Construction Worker Registration Under BOCW Act

The Rajasthan Labour Department has issued strict directions to Labour Inspectors to ensure maximum registration of construction establishments employing 10 or more workers under the Building and Other Construction Workers Act, 1996. The circular follows observations by the Accountant General that a large number of construction works remain unregistered despite statutory requirements. Penal action under Section 50 is to be initiated against non-compliant employers.
